New week resolution: DIGITAL DETOX
Digital Detox is not just about staying away from your devices, but about managing the time you spend on your phone, laptop etc. Detoxing digitally is having control of your device and not the other way round. Social media sucks all our time, starving us of quality time with people and activities that need our attention.
The internet is a jealous friend and an unhealthy addiction. So we recommend that you detox as regularly as possible, and what a better time to start than a new week.

Here are habits and patterns you can start to help reduce your screen time as much as possible:
**The first thing you do when you wake up should not be scrolling on your phone. Give yourself the first two hours in the morning for family bonding, prayers, chores or exercise.
**Keep your phone away from the dining table. Do not scroll when you eat. Be present at meal times, especially when the hour is shared with others.
**Keep your phone away an hour before you go to bed. This also applies to televisions and other screens.
**Have a phone-free weekend, at least once every month, where you do not check your phone at all. You’ll be surprise how much this impacts positively on your mental health.
**Unfollow and unsubscribe from accounts that do not enhance your life. Reduce your intake of idle gossip and lazy online banter. They sneak into your hours and rob you of peace. It’s not worth it in the long run.

**Have a life away from your screen. This can be an interesting journey for you as you find other ways to entertain yourself. Hang out with people, take a walk, do anything but screen time.
**You may suffer anxieties or get frustrated when you detox digitally, but keep at it. Have a goal and a reason you are doing this. Set your mind on the goal and its rewards, this will guide you better through this decision. We are rooting for you!
When was the last time you detoxed digitally?
